When it comes to painting then we can find an artist almost in every other house. Many do it for fun and joy and others do it for a living. No matter what your reason is for painting but for becoming a pro in this skill you got to perfect your technique.
In order to perfect your technique, it is essential that you know the correct way to use a paint brush to bring out the best in your painting. Normally, when you pick up a paint brush you hold it as if you were holding a pen or a pencil. This is quite natural and our brain functions in the same way. It treats the paint brush as a pencil or a pen because it is familiar with it and the usage is almost the same.
Although this process is natural but in reality, it limits your movement that does not allow you to bring in the best out of it. In other words, it is an imperfect way to use a paint brush for making a painting. For obtaining an optimum usage of the paint brush in your art you need to use the whole of your arm instead of using just your wrists.
Using the paint brush as if it was a pencil or a pen is helpful in covering details. For other parts, you should hold and use the paint brush as if you were using a thin stick. In this, you hold the paint brush near to its middle in such a way that your fingers are on the lower end of the brush and your thumb is on the upper end. This will help you bring in flow in your painting and cover big areas faster.
Remember, you don’t have to use the paint brush in a certain alignment such as from left to right only. You can and should use the paint brush in free flow movement. For covering the details in painting you should use the paint brush like pen or pencil. But for covering other areas you should use it as a stick in the way described above. For this purpose, you should use a paint brush with a long handle. It may feel strange at the start but with regular practice, you will get used to it.
The more you experiment the better your painting will be. Some experiments do fail and will fail but don’t get discouraged from it. The key here is to never give up and keep bringing out innovation and creativity. Painting is all about creativity and innovation and the better you get at it the better your painting will be.
